What Exactly is Local Law 152?
Local Law 152 is the result of a citywide effort to keep city inhabitants and buildings safe by ensuring that gas pipelines and piping systems within the city meet safety guidelines. The law, passed in 2016, requires that inspections are performed on all buildings by yearly deadlines ending in 2023. These deadlines are broken down by Community Districts, not boroughs.
How Can Nationwide Plumbers Help?
Nationwide Plumbers can perform the necessary inspection to ensure that the gas piping in your building is safe and meets safety standards. With the deadline for Community Districts 2, 5, 7, 13, and 18 in all boroughs fast approaching, Nationwide Plumbers is dedicated to helping building owners in these areas avoid the potential $10,000 civil penalty they could face if they miss the deadline.
But How Does It Work?
These inspections must be performed by our Master Plumbers, and we will be inspecting all gas piping in the building for illegal or non-permitted installations, as well as corrosion and other signs of deterioration. Within 30 days of your inspection, we will provide you with your Gas Piping System Periodic Inspection Report (GPS1). You then have to submit your paperwork to the DOB within 60 days of the initial inspection.
Request Your Inspection and Avoid a $10k fine!
Local Law 152 has steep penalties for missing the deadline; you could face up to $10,000 as a civil penalty if you don’t obtain an inspection and file the subsequent paperwork.
